Hello, my name is John Joe Pereira Rodríguez but you can call me JJ
I’m a professional photographer with a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, majoring in Photography from Sagrado Corazón University. With over 15 years of experience, I’ve dedicated my life to capturing meaningful moments with authenticity, artistry, and intention. I currently serve on the Board of Directors of the Asociación de Coordinadores Profesionales de Eventos de Puerto Rico (ACEP), where I collaborate with top industry professionals to elevate event standards across the island. Driven by a deep sense of responsibility to serve my clients with the highest level of professionalism, I have pursued advanced certifications that reflect my ongoing commitment to excellence, inclusivity, and elevated standards within the event and photography industries. Throughout my career, I’ve also had the privilege of contributing to renowned industry platforms such as Wedding Ways Puerto Rico and Esposa Moderna Magazine, where my work was featured on the cover in 2022. In 2025, I was honored with to be recognized as "Best Wedding Photographer in Puerto Rico" by the prestigious Latin American Wedding Awards (LAWA)—a recognition that celebrates both my creative vision and unwavering commitment to my clients.
Photography, for me, is more than a profession—it’s a passion and a lifelong commitment. I specialize in weddings, portraits, studio sessions, sports, and events. My style blends the spontaneity of photojournalism with the elegance of classic photography, resulting in images that feel both timeless and emotionally rich.
MY STORY
As a child, I saw photography as a magical way to freeze time—capturing moments that could be relived again and again. My initial interest in photography came through sports. I was an athlete, but an injury shifted my path. Photography became my new way of staying close to the action. I developed a talent for capturing decisive moments—the kind that happen in a split second, but tell the full story. That instinct is what continues to set my work apart.
In 2009, I photographed my first wedding—and something clicked. I realized I could combine the storytelling skills of photojournalism with the beauty and emotion of weddings. Since then, I’ve had the honor of documenting love stories with a natural, honest approach that lets each couple shine.
